Center for School-Community Collaboration

Our Center for School-Community Collaboration helps address social and community issues (such as bullying, youth alcohol/drug use, and youth violence) that can affect children's performance in schools.

To combat these complex issues, the center promotes cooperation between schools, community groups and government agencies. It provides up-to-date information and research data about a variety of critical issues that impact today's youth, as well as both statewide and individual trainings.

Key partnerships the Center for School-Community Collboration has struck up over its more than 25-year history include the Virginia Department of Education, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

Center for School-Community Collaboration mission

The core purpose of the CSCC is to assist Virginia schools, communities, and government agencies in responding to emerging needs in prevention of unhealthy youth behaviors and promotion of positive outcomes.
