Dr. Genevieve Siegel-Hawley, an assistant professor in our Department of Educational Leadership, offered her expert opinion on the state of Richmond Public Schools to Times-Dispatch columnist Michael Paul Williams, as he prepares for a in-depth examination of Richmond education.

In the colulmn, titled "Back to school in search of answers for Richmond", Siegel-Hawley discusses the need for cooperation in order to improve integration in public schools.

A renowned expert on race and inequality in public schools, Siegel-Hawley was recently featured in a U.S. News and World Report article on the effects of resegregation as well.
