The School of Education’s Center for Sport Leadership current trip to South Africa has been highlighted in a recent VCU News feature. An eight-person delegation, including four CSL staff members, have made the trip to Johannesburg and Cape Town as part of the center’s Project PUSH (Play Until Something Happens).
The trip is actually something of a follow-up journey – last summer, the CSL hosted 14 South African youth soccer coaches, holding seminars and training sessions to demonstrate how healthy and socially responsible habits can actually be incorporated into soccer practices. Part of the purpose of this trip is to see, six months later, how those lessons have been implemented.
