Caimdyn, a Richmond native, came to the School of Education in September 2020 after serving for two years in VCU's Psychology Department as an Academic Advisor. As a first-generation college graduate of the University of Virginia and former high school Social Studies Teacher in Henrico County Public Schools, Caimdyn is passionate about fostering an interdisciplinary, compassionate learning community rooted in openness, empathy, curiosity and critical perspective-taking. In her role as the Senior Student Advisor, she provides academic advising and program support across the five new undergraduate programs offered by the School of Education. Through collaboration and flexibility, Caimdyn is dedicated to supporting positive outcomes for student engagement, student retention, and academic success through one-on-one student interactions and fostering relationships with university partners. She is passionate about elevating diverse and equitable practices in education and career development.
