Tk20 by Watermark Assessment System
The VCU School of Education uses the Tk20 by Watermark assessment software as a means of monitoring and evaluating our programs.
Tk20 allows the School of Education to document student progress toward professional competencies, help students manage their academic careers and transition to the working world, and to demonstrate programs’ continued commitment to professional standards affirmed in the School of Education’s national recognition by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation and the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs.
If you have any questions about the Tk20 system, please contact Dr. Angie Wetzel or Mr. David Spivey in the School of Education’s Office of Assessment by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
As a student, the Tk20 by Watermark assessment system helps document your growth throughout your program, conveniently receive feedback in field experiences and build a digital portfolio that showcases aspects of your educational experience, professional competencies and accomplishments. It also supports you in your transition from a student to a working professional.
Specifically, the Tk20 system enables students to:
- Upload or create files and assignments (text, video and audio) online that will be available for access and use beyond graduation. Faculty and cooperating professionals can also provide annotated feedback directly on the files themselves. This allows students to present documented performance data and information to prospective employers, who are increasingly interested in data-supported evidence of an individual’s current and potential performance.
- Easily access a fully documented record of internships or field experiences and any associated artifacts or evaluations.
- Complete program and field experience evaluations that provide feedback to faculty and cooperating professionals.
- Create multimedia electronic portfolios, documenting work for presentation to faculty and prospective employers — a valuable benefit whether seeking that first job or working on professional advancement.
Tk20 brings together data from multiple sources, such as coursework, field experiences and evaluation surveys. These data helps us continuously improve programs and student experiences.
