Graduation ceremony marks the end of the academic year
The School of Education graduation ceremony was held on May 11 in the Stuart C. Siegel Center. Faculty, staff, family and friends celebrated the accomplishments of 85 students who now head out in diverse communities across the country to serve as teachers, counselors, school administrators, higher education faculty and other professionals committed to high needs learning environments.
“We are extremely proud of our students. Thanks to their hard work and dedication while they’ve been here at the VCU School of Education, they’re now ready to make an impact in the community as leaders of positive change,” said Dr. Colleen Thoma, associate dean for academic affairs and graduate studies in the School of Education.
Dr. Ross Collin was presented with The Charles P. Ruch Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Collin is highly regarded by SOE faculty, staff and students as an outstanding teacher and author whose knowledge, expertise and humanistic approach are an inspiration to all.
