Weeks of Welcome 2026 Event Schedule

New Graduate Student Orientation Wednesday, Aug. 12 | 3-6 p.m. | ALC 2100/2104 Incoming graduate students are invited to learn about School of Education resources, meet faculty and staff, and connect with fellow new students as they begin their graduate journey.

WoW Kickoff Block Party & Resource Fair Thursday, Aug. 20 | 2-3:30 p.m. | SOE Courtyard The celebration begins with free popsicles, popcorn, lawn games and prizes. Students who complete their Resource Fair passport will have the chance to pop a balloon on the prize wall for a shot at winning VCU socks, bags or lunch with the Dean.

Student Organizations Fair Thursday, Sept. 3 | 12-1 p.m. | Zoom Students can explore the school's student organizations and discover opportunities for leadership, professional development and community.

Graduate Student Mixer: Speed Networking Thursday, Sept. 10 Virtual: 12-1 p.m. on Zoom | In person: 3-4 p.m. in Oliver Hall, Room 3064 Graduate students can build their professional networks through fast-paced networking rounds, offered in both virtual and in-person formats. Light refreshments will be served at the in-person session.

SOE Unscripted: Faculty Panel & Q&A Wednesday, Sept. 16 | 12 p.m. | Hybrid: Oliver Hall, Room 3064 and Zoom Students are invited to hear candid insights from School of Education faculty and ask questions during this interactive hybrid panel.

International Student Mixer Tuesday, Sept. 22 | Oliver Hall Student Lounge (Room 2126) International students are invited to connect with peers and build community in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
