Bio

Scott Stech serves as the executive director for finance and business administration for the VCU School of Education.

In this role, Stech serves as the fiscal officer of the school and oversees an annual state budget of approximately $13 million and approximately $35 million in research and external grant funding. He maintains an operational support and financial reporting system that ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of the business function for the school, its departments, programs and initiatives. This includes oversight of all fiscal areas and business functions of the school, including Human Resources and IT, travel, building management, fixed assets, unit and university budgeting, and purchasing/payment.

With more than 12 years of experience in finance, human resources, and business administration at the university, Stech brings with him extensive knowledge in finance, human resources, and research administration. He is currently working toward an M.Ed. in Adult Learning with a concentration in human resource development from the VCU School of Education and maintains his SHRM-CP and PMP certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management and the Project Management Institute.
