The VCU School of Education’s Ed.D. in Leadership program is the perfect launch pad to advance your career – no matter which career you’ve chosen. Ask Amanda Woodyard, who is currently enrolled in the program.

Woodyard earned her undergraduate degree from Hampton University and her master’s degree from Arizona State University. She comes from a military home and has a passion for helping military students transition – and excel – in changing environments. She currently serves as the director of community engagement and outreach at the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC), a nonprofit advocacy organization that ensures quality educational opportunities for military and veteran-connected children.

When Woodyard was looking for a doctoral program to help advance her career, she found our Ed.D. in Leadership to be the perfect fit.

“This program checked all the boxes I needed when searching for a program,” she said. “Not only do the small cohorts allow for a more personable experience that enhances networking, but the structure of the program allows me to form bonds that I know will last far beyond graduation.”

Amanda said that the school’s supportive staff also helped her to transition into the program much more smoothly. She’s not surprised that our Ed.D. in Leadership program is popular among people from many different professions.

“This program fits the goals of people from a wide variety of different careers,” she said.
