Jonathan D. Becker, J.D., Ph.D., an associate professor and online coordinator in the Department of Educational Leadership, authored an opinion piece on digital equity in education in today's Richmond Times-Dispatch.

In the column, titled "To achieve digital equity in education, students need policymakers on their side," Becker points out that much was made of the "digital divide" or "homework gap" in schools as the pandemic swept across the country, but if we're going to fix these disparities in the long term, we'll need policymakers at all levels of government to take a multifaceted approach to broadband access and educational technology.
