Krystal E. Andrews, M.S.Ed., director of student success in the VCU School of Education, is the new chair of the Pan African Network in the American College Personnel Association (ACPA). Andrews began her one-year term in March during ACPA's 2022 Annual Convention in St. Louis.

“I am honored to serve as chair for a network that has played a major role in my development as a practitioner,” said Andrews. “I am looking forward to serving our membership and association as we prepare for our 2023 convention year in New Orleans.”

Andrews has been a member of ACPA since 2011. She has been involved in the Pan African Network (PAN) since that time, serving in various positions on PAN’s directorate board since 2013.

PAN is one of four networks within ACPA's Coalition on Multicultural Affairs, which serves as a liaison to ACPA’s leadership, focusing attention on issues in education and trends that affect students and professionals of color in the college student personnel field. PAN’s mission is to provide programs and resources that service the needs of ACPA members who identify with – and support the causes of – the Pan African community. The network strives to accomplish its purpose through the implementation of six core values, which serve as guidelines for its programmatic outcomes:

  • Educational Leadership
  • Collaboration
  • Fellowship
  • Advocacy
  • Professional Development
  • Mentoring

ACPA is the leading comprehensive student affairs association that advances student affairs and engages students for a lifetime of learning and discovery. The association currently has 5,300 individual members and 360 college/university members.
