Becoming an Antiracist Educator: Level 1 & 2

The Becoming an Antiracist Educator series is back for its second year. This dynamic professional learning opportunity is designed to intentionally develop skills to engage in practices to dismantle systems that perpetuate racial inequities. The Level 1 series will again be offered for both Higher Education and PK-12 audiences. Participants who completed Level 1 last school year can now join us for the new Level 2 series, building on Level 1 topics and moving from ideas into action. Both levels will offer nine sessions between September 2021 and May 2022.

Becoming an Antiracist Leader

Also new this year, in partnership with the VCU School of Business, the Becoming an Antiracist Leader series is launching to serve corporate and non-profit audiences. This series will also offer nine sessions between September 2021 and May 2022.

Globalization in Higher Education

The International Education Studies Center, which is affiliated with the School of Education, is hosting the very first Globalization in Higher Education series. The goal of this series is to prepare U.S. university campuses and larger communities to support international students to ensure their success both academically and socially. This series will offer nine sessions between September 2021 and May 2022.

Strategies to Promote a Culturally Diverse PK-12 Teaching Workforce

The Minority Educator Recruitment, Retention and Equity Center, also affiliated with the School of Education, is presenting the first Strategies to Promote a Culturally Diverse PK-12 Teaching Workforce series. This five-part series, to be held between October 2021 and February 2022, will address attracting and supporting educators of color through a culturally responsive lens.

All professional learning series sessions will be conducted via Zoom, and will include a personal/professional assessment as well as a microcredential at completion. Registration for all series opens soon on the OSE website!
