VCU School of Education online programs ranked among best in the U.S.

U.S. News & World Report has ranked six of Virginia Commonwealth University’s online programs among the best in the country, with four of the programs ranking in the top 25.

“Building on the excellence of our online offerings is of strategic importance for VCU as we strive to prepare many more learners for the future of work and serve their career-long retooling and re-skilling needs,” said Fotis Sotiropoulos, Ph.D., VCU provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. “These rankings attest to the quality and impact of our online education programs and bode well for the bold vision we have laid out to expand online education at VCU for the benefit of our students and our community.”

The VCU School of Education’s online Master’s in Education Program jumped 28 spots in the rankings to No. 25 of the 329 ranked programs in the U.S. The school’s online Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction was ranked for the first time and enters the rankings at No. 19.

“I am excited about the work of our outstanding faculty and staff,” said Andrew Daire, Ph.D., dean of the School of Education. “The availability of high-quality online programs is essential in our efforts to reach more students and best accommodate many learners, particularly working professionals.”
