VCU School of Education Ranks Among the Leading Online Master of Education Programs in the Nation

Additionally, its Master of Education in Special Education earned a prestigious #14 ranking (tied) among the nation’s Best Online Master’s in Special Education programs.
With nine online Master of Education programs to choose from, VCU’s offerings are designed to advance careers and empower educators to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Applications are now open for Fall 2025 enrollment. Here are the upcoming application deadlines for these programs:
- February 1: Curriculum and Instruction; Reading (K-12 Reading Specialist)
- April 1: Educational Leadership (four concentrations: Administration and Supervision*, Culturally Responsive Leadership, Higher Education Administration, Leadership Studies) and Special Education (three concentrations: Adapted Curriculum*, Early Childhood, General Education)

To help address critical challenges in education, several of these online Master of Education programs are eligible for our VCU Educator Rate, which offers significant tuition savings for in-state and out-of-state students.”
The Master of Education (MEd) programs with the following concentrations qualify for the VCU School of Education Educator Rate: Reading (K-12 Reading Specialist), Educational Leadership (Administration and Supervision) and Special Education (Adapted Curriculum). The Educator Rate provides significant tuition savings to in-state and out-of-state students.
