With over 27 years of experience in K-12 special education, Hicks brings a wealth of expertise to VCU, focusing her research on Braille literacy and Autism support for elementary students and their families.

Joining the faculty in August, Hicks has been an advocate for inclusive education throughout her career, with a passion for enhancing teacher preparation in Braille instruction. Her dedication to advancing support systems for students and families makes her a valuable addition to our community.
