The Office of Student Success supports students at all levels within the School of Education. Its main goal is to create a supportive learning environment that enhances students' intellectual, emotional, and social development. The office consists of staff members who assist students with new student orientation, academic advising, co-curricular programming, academic record management, preparation for licensure testing, and graduation clearance.
In supporting all students in the school, we aim to create a supportive learning environment that enhances students’ intellectual, emotional and social development. Our staff members assist students with orientation, academic advising, co-curricular programming, academic record management, preparation for licensure testing and graduation.
The School of Education’s Undergraduate Advising unit exists to support student success through student-advisor collaboration, strategic guidance, and goal setting. We believe in a proactive approach to assisting students in connecting academic pursuits with personal and professional goals through one-on-one meetings, group meetings, and/or co-curricular events. Advising is a collaborative teaching and learning experience that involves students, advisors, instructors, and the larger VCU community committed to offering student support and encouragement. Advisors are dedicated to empowering students to take ownership of their academic goals, decisions, and achievements.
