As you transition into your program, here are a few key resources that will help you make the most of your time here.

Review your admissions checklist based on your program level (undergraduate, transfer, graduate, etc).

- VCU Maps and Transportation: Offers tips on getting around VCU and finding the best way to get to class and activities with the RamRide (aka Campus Connector).
- Records and Registration: Provides student accounting, financial aid, schedule of classes and registration dates.
- VCU Portal Resources: Offers digital services for registration, tuition information and transcripts, and academic calendars.
- Graduate School Student Resources: Programs resources on everything from mental and physical health to community connections.
Review what your student fee covers for University Student Health Services and review options for student insurance.
If you’re part-time (3-6 credit hours), you do not need to submit standard state required immunizations; however, you must submit a tuberculosis (TB) screening form. You can fill out the online form on the Student Health Services Web Portal; it’s also available on the Student Health Services Submitting Immunization Records page.

- Undergraduate students: Email soeadvising@vcu.edu to talk about your next steps and academic plan.
- Graduate students: Contact your program’s faculty coordinator to build your unique academic plan.
Student handbooks:
- Review your graduate program's handbook to learn about the timing of different requirements and components of your program – all the way to graduation.
- Undergraduate Student Success Resources: Check out the team we have, from A-Z to support your success.
- Graduate School Resources: Review an A-Z list of various resources found through the central Graduate School; some resources might be limited to degree-seeking students.
- Student Accessibility and Educational Opportunity (SAEO) Office. Register and request support for special accommodations.
- Military Student Services: Request and process military benefits and engage with the military connected community at VCU.
- Off-Campus Student Services: Find help with off-campus issues, such as locating housing, understanding transportation options, resolving landlord and/or roommate conflicts, lease reviews, budgeting and more.
- VCU Counseling Services: Access on-campus services and crisis support with a focus on crisis care, group counseling, healing and growth events. VCU partners with TimelyCare Counseling Services to deliver a 24/7 virtual health and well-being platform at no cost for enrolled students. Download the TimelyCare app to gain access to TalkNow 24/7/365 crisis support, telemental health services that allow them to meet virtually with a licensed clinician for up to 12 therapy sessions, and access to unlimited health coaching. Services are also offered in multiple languages.
Special resources are available for graduate students. To start, contact your librarian and request access to the master’s or doctoral Canvas support resource shells. Additionally you can review the:
