Bio
Dr. Wendy J. Rodgers is an assistant professor in the Department of Counseling and Special Education in the School of Education at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Rodgers taught high school special education for 11 years prior to receiving her doctorate and transitioning to higher education. As a teacher educator, she teaches undergraduate, masters, and doctoral level courses, including courses on field experiences, high-incidence disabilities, and proposal design. In her research, Dr. Rodgers focuses on topics related to effective practices for inclusion and co-teaching. She has published 15 peer-reviewed articles, four book chapters, and two policy briefs and is an active member of professional organizations such as the Teacher Education Division of the Council for Exceptional Children, for which she serves on the Executive Committee of the Diversity Caucus.
