SOE celebrates students at Scholarship & Awards Ceremony

Doctoral student Olubowale Emiola Oyefuga delivered the student reflection at the 2019 School of Education Scholarship and Awards Ceremony. She also was awarded the Dale Kalkofen Scholarship of Educational Leadership.

The VCU School of Education awarded 66 scholarships to 56 of the school’s top students at the annual Scholarship & Awards Ceremony. The awards given out totalled more than $78,000.

In his welcoming remarks, Dean Andrew Daire expressed his gratitude towards this year's award and scholarship recipients, as well as to the generous donors who made it all possible. Olubowale Emiola Oyefuga, who is pursuing her Ph.D. in Education, Concentration in Educational Leadership, Policy and Justice, accepted the Dale Kalkofen Scholarship in Education Leadership and spoke about the impact that School of Education students and graduates make on communities, families and children.

Among the scholarships awarded were the Vicki Godsey White Scholarship in Special Education to Katherine Brendli and Erin Lee Stehle, and the Vivian Conway Mason Scholarship awarded to Jazmin Brunson and Weade James.
