Dean Daire named CADREI president

Andrew Daire, Ph.D., dean of the VCU School of Education, was named president of the Council of Academic Deans from Research Education Institutions (CADREI) at its Fall 2020 Virtual Conference on November 6.

CADREI is an assembly of deans of education from research and land grant institutions throughout North America. The Council and its affiliates are committed to the preparation of education personnel in all phases, as well as the formulation of plans, policies and programs to make member institutions more effective in their work.

Dean Daire has been highly involved in the community at the state and local level since joining VCU in 2016. His recent efforts include memberships on the Virginia Commission on African American History Education in the Commonwealth and testifying to the U.S. House about how VCU is working to prepare high-quality, dedicated classroom teachers.

Dean Daire, who will serve as CADREI president for two years, holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Stetson University and a Ph.D. from the Florida State University in counseling psychology and school psychology. Along with extensive clinical intervention experience, he has received over $16 million in external funding to support his research.
