Dean Daire to speak at equity and social justice event

'Cradle to Career' to be held by St. Andrew's School

Dr. Andrew Daire, dean of the VCU School of Education, will join three other speakers at a panel discussion exploring how the Richmond community can improve outcomes for youth by focusing on the issues of race, equity and access in early childhood education.

The panel discussion is part of "Cradle to Career: Equity and Social Justice in Early Childhood Education," an event scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on April 11 by St. Andrew’s School. The event will be held at The Woman’s Club at The Historic Bolling Haxall House located at 211 E. Franklin St.

Speakers will include Kathy Glazer, president of the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation, and Dr. Beatrice Fennimore, an education professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

This inaugural event is part of the Carol Wingo Dickinson Thought Leaders Series, which honors the memory of Carol Wingo Dickinson, a lifelong community servant who supported St. Andrew’s for almost 20 years. This series invites the entire community to work together for social justice and equity in education.
