Robyn Hobson (M.T. ’13): “I am strong. I am a fighter.”

SOE alumna, diagnosed with cancer, starts YouTube channel to document her journey

After earning her master’s degree in elementary education from the VCU School of Education, Robyn Hobson (M.T. '13) began teaching fourth grade at Statesville Road Elementary School in Charlotte, North Carolina. In January, she was named Teacher of the Year by her colleagues at the Title I school.

In June, Hobson learned that she has stage 4 inoperable tumors on both her liver and pancreas. She has started a YouTube channel to document her journey. Despite her diagnosis, she is in great spirits and looks forward to keeping everyone updated as she overcomes this latest obstacle placed before her.
