The VCU School of Education was recently ranked #3 in Best Online Graduate Education Programs by U.S. News & World Report.

With 311 schools of education participating nationwide, only two Virginia schools of education ranked among this year’s top 100, VCU being the top in the state.

“Our ranking in U.S. News & World Report demonstrates not only the exceptional quality of our faculty, staff and students, it also confirms the strength of support that we provide to distance learners,” said Dr. Andrew Daire, dean of the School of Education.

Now an annual tradition in academia, the U.S. News & World Report rankings have become the definitive list for assessing the nation’s top higher education programs. Each year’s rankings are compiled via a combination of quantitative measures, expert opinion and peer assessment data.

“These rankings are important because they indicate the extent to which schools of education are serious about the high quality of their graduate level programs, and the importance they place on diverse course offerings that accommodate students’ ever-changing needs,” Daire said.
