RTR on CBS 6: Recruiting teachers from universities
The RTR program in Petersburg was featured on CBS 6 recently in a story about how school systems – faced with teacher vacancies – are recruiting teachers before they get their degrees.
As an example of that, the story featured VCU School of Education and RTR student Andrea Garcia-Plata, who along with six other VCU students, is teaching at Pleasants Lane Elementary School in Petersburg while working toward her Master of Teaching degree.
