Cormier receives Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award

The VCU School of Education’s Dwayne Ray Cormier, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Foundations of Education and visiting iCubed scholar, was recently awarded the 2020 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award by the National Association for Professional Development Schools (NAPDS). Cormier completed his Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on curriculum and supervision at the Pennsylvania State University.

The award recognizes outstanding recent doctoral candidates whose research contributes significantly to an understanding of some aspect of professional development schools. Dr. Cormier will be invited to present a summary of his doctoral research at the upcoming NAPDS Conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and to facilitate a mentoring session for doctoral students.

NAPDS is the pre-eminent national organization supporting and advancing school-university collaboration. The association serves as an advocate for the educational community in promoting the continuous development of PreK-12/higher education/community relationships.
