School of Education alumni and students helped VCU’s Office of Alumni Relations host a successful Family Day recently at James Branch Cabell Library.

The event was part of VCU Alumni’s ELEVATE Tour, a 23-city international trek that’s offering some new experiences for alumni. The Richmond event featured games, reading time for children, and pictures with Rodney the Ram for alumni and their families.

Preparation began in December when SOE students met with professor Lisa Cipolletti to plan activities, prepare supplies and select books for reading. On the day of the event, the students set up activity stations and led many of the activities. Children from the Child Development Center, which is affiliated with the School of Education, attended.

More ELEVATE events are planned through December 2019.
